We are currently seeking a full-time porter to work with our property management and maintenance team. The porter is responsible for the upkeep of grounds, building exteriors and parking lots to ensure our properties are maintained in a professional and aesthetically pleasing manner. The Porter will be capable of performing maintenance duties as assigned.

  • Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: 
  • Responsible for meticulous upkeep of grounds, building exteriors, parking lots and to ensuring all vacant spaces are in a clean and tidy state, 
  • Performs assigned maintenance tasks in a timely manner. • Assists in the troubleshooting/repair of mechanical, carpentry and electrical problems.
  • Reports any maintenance concerns for repair to the Maintenance Manager. 
  • Has an eye to ensure each property maintains curb appeal. 
  • Represents the company in a professional and friendly manner at all times-on/off property. 
  • Delivers communication documentation to tenants. 
  • A reliable vehicle is required for this position. All mileage driven for company business will be reimbursed. 
  • Ensure any unsafe conditions are immediately remedied. 
  • This job has regular exposure to indoor and outdoor climates. 
  • Performs all other duties as required and assigned.

Qualifications 

  • Basic proficiency of reading and writing of the English language. 
  • Minimum one year full‐time related experience would be preferred. 
  • Willingness to perform all required tasks. 
  • Demonstrated knowledge of work safety habits. 
  • Able to work on‐call (as necessary and/or an emergency arises) and extended hours (including after hours and weekends). 
  • Meticulous attention to detail. 
  • Ability to effectively organize and prioritize work. 
  • Ability to interact effectively with staff and tenants. 
  • Ability to successfully work individually and as part of a team to achieve objectives.

Education/Certification

High school diploma or GED preferred.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate (verbally and in writing), listen, and view documents (both on paper and electronically). The employee regularly uses a smart phone to receive work orders and communicate with other members of the team. This is a largely mobile role that requires frequent sitting, standing, walking, kneeling, bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, and grasping. This role frequently requires climbing and working from a ladder. The employee is regularly required to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.

The hours are from 8:00am to 4:30pm, Monday to Friday. This position will be part of the after hours on call rotation. Employment is conditional on a satisfactory criminal record check to be provided within 14 days of employment offer.
