Christine served on the Saskatoon Police Service for three years before joining the Regina city police. Christine also rose through the ranks of the Regina city police.

Christine was first elected MLA for Regina Wascana Plains in the November 2007 provincial election. She was re-elected in 2011, 2016, and 2020.

Christine has served Saskatchewan in various roles including Minister of Corrections, Policing and Public Safety, Minister of Government Services, Minister responsible for Saskatchewan Liquor and Gaming Authority, Minister of Tourism, Parks, Culture and Sport, and Minister responsible for the Provincial Capital Commission.

She currently serves as Minister of Environment.
