James Youck, Architect, Principal, SAA, AAA, FRAIC, AIA International, B.A., B.Arch.

P3Architecture, Interior Design, Planning (P3A)

James is a Saskatchewan born architect who received a Bachelor of Arts (with Distinction) from the University of Saskatchewan in 1989 and a professional Architecture Degree (with Distinction) from Carleton University in Ottawa in 1994. He returned to the Province in and joined P3A as a Principal in 1998. He is a Past-President of the Saskatchewan Association of Architects (SAA), has twice served on Council for the SAA, and is currently a National Director on the national board of the Regulatory Organizations of Architecture in Canada, or ROAC. In 2020 he was appointed to the prestigious RAIC College of Fellows by his peers in the profession. He has represented the SAA on the Construction Panel, the Construction Association Advisory Council and is currently the founding Chair of the Consulting Architects of Saskatchewan (CAS). He is a past board member of the Regina Human Society, the Regina Eco Museum, and the Regina Warehouse Business Improvement District.

Some of the more notable projects in James’ portfolio include the national award-winning Terrace Building at Innovation Place Regina, the U of R Research and Innovation Centre (RIC), the Saskatchewan Disease Control Laboratory, the RCMP Heritage Centre, the nationally published mâmawêyatitân centre, Conexus Head Office Building, and the U of R College Avenue Campus Renewal, including the Darke Hall Revitalization.  He was the City of Regina Architectural Advisor for the New Mosaic Stadium and led the design assignment for the award-winning Saskatchewan Roughrider spaces in the stadium. He currently is the Principal-in-Charge of the Globe Theatre Revitalization project and two new joint-use elementary schools in addition to many CRU developments. 

James has spoken at conferences on topics ranging from sustainability to educational design and has been a presenter for the provincial Archives Week and for Heritage Regina. He is dedicated to elevating the design and construction industry in the province.

Lonnie MacKenzie of Abco Elevator on "Emotional Journey of Elevator Entrapments & How to Deal with Them"

     

Lonnie MacKenzie, a visionary entrepreneur and safety advocate, is the Founder and CEO of Abco Elevator. Additionally, Lonnie's entrepreneurial spirit shines through in the co-founding of Variable Hub, a groundbreaking governance and compliance platform facilitating seamless centralized data management, verification, and reporting for organizations. 

As a third-generation elevator man, Lonnie brings a wealth of experience and expertise to his endeavors. However, it's his unique flair for embracing life's awkward moments that truly sets him apart. Lonnie seeks to embrace what could be discomfort into cherished memories.

All Members are invited to get involved with the no charge, informal Trade Show.  For details, contact events@bomasask.ca.  There will be breaks between the speakers for the attendees to visit all booths to fill out their Passports for a draw prize.  All booth reps will be given a few minutes to talk about their company during the event.
